The property has a double bedroom, and the ability to sleep up to three people with the use of a sofa bed fitted in the living room.

The bedroom opens onto a balcony overlooking Guinea Grass with fantastic views into the valley below. The Lodge has a fully fitted bathroom with walk-in shower, fitted kitchen, a utility room and an outside seating area to relax and enjoy the tropical evenings after long days of discovering St Helena.

The property is semi self-sufficient with chickens and sheep, vegetables and fruit. Most of the produce, organically grown, is destined for the hotel’s dining room table.

Nearby is Rosemary Plain, Plantation House where Jonathan the 190-year-old tortoise lives, High Knoll Fort and the Lemon Valley Post Box walk.

Valuables:

There are no individual room safes, however, guests are welcome to use the house safe. Although there is little crime on the island, and the hotel cannot accept responsibility for valuables.

Walking:

Guests are welcome to walk anywhere in the grounds and the hotel’s neighbours are happy to extend the invitation on their land as well. However, please follow the country code and close the gates behind you (or leave if they were previously open).

Gratuity:

Farm Lodge does not have a service charge, however, should guests wish to reward courtesy and good service, this is entirely voluntary. All tips are divided equally between the staff.

The Emperor, Napoleon Bonaparte visited Farm Lodge on horseback during his early days of incarceration on St Helena and wished to live here. However, he was refused by Governor Hudson Lowe who was worried of his possible escape via Lemon Valley which is on the leeward side of the island.

The octagonal wine cooler situated in our dining room and the chaise lounge in the hall came from Longwood House and originally belonged to Napoleon.
